Brief Biographical Summary:
Mae Kamämalu Klein was born and raised on O`ahu. When she was a young girl, her parents died, so she was raised in a convent first with Sacred Hearts nuns and then Franciscan nuns. She began her hula studies at age seven with Louise Beamer, daughter-in-law of Helen Desha Beamer, and Sally Wood Nalua`i. As an adult, she danced with Kent Ghirard for a while, but mainly studied with Mä`iki `Aiu Lake and Hoakalei Kamau`u. She was formally `üniki'd by Auntie Mä`iki.
